Welcome to Jackson Micro, where we're building innovative tools and networks to benefit our local community. Explore our projects below!
Our goal is to make the public bus system in Jackson easier to understand and use. We're developing tools to improve accessibility and provide real-time information.
Current Features: Find nearest bus stop, predicted arrival times.
Future Plans: We are working on adding route planning and real time bus locations.
Visit Bus ProjectWe are building a decentralized Meshtastic network in Jackson. This network enables off-grid encrypted communication using low-power devices, providing a resilient communication option for the community that prioritizes privacy.
Potential uses include Internet of Things (IoT), Automation, Property Security, Asset Tracking, and Backup Communications all for little hardware cost ($10-$30 per Meshtastic Radio) and free use of the network.
Network Node Map: Here is a map of the nodes I regularly communicate with. Each one is a device some one has in their pocket or mounted on their roof. All communication took place without using the internet at all.
Get Involved: Want to participate in the Meshtastic Network? Contact Me. I'm looking for high locations to install solar-powered nodes to expand the network coverage.
In the olden days of the internet, we used to have these things called BBS's or Bulletin Board Systems that were the precursor to chat rooms and instant messaging.
I'm hosting one locally on LongFast, just look for the jBBS node in Meshtastic.
